craig wanted to keep the looks of a vintage z1 superbike.
but would like a little more stability in the handling dept.

so i bent a piece of 1"X.065 wall 4130 chromoly tubing then split it lengthwise and tig welded it to the top of the arm.

that should stiffen it up a lil  ;)...

these are r1 triples converted to fit a j-model kz1000,with some material added and drilled for handlebar mounts..

this is the material for 3" fork leg extensions to gain back the lost length between the kz and r1 front ends.

 here are the extensions themselves.
dustcap bushings that adapt the fz1 swingarm pivot to the kz pivot bolt.
 umm huh!
a lil unorthodox milling of the fz swinger to seat the bearings deeper and narrow it up to fit the kz inside frame width.

Here Is the new pivot tube and linkage mount fit and welded up.

been staying busy all winter.the black extended arm is for a gsxr1000 that needs to go where the white busa arm used to go.
the guy wanted me to remove the pivot tube from the busa arm and re-use it.but i was afraid the welding would distort the bore so i have machined a new pivot tube from 6061-t6 and will weld it in and then bore the ends for the pivot bearings.

i figured i had enough pics of steering stem swaps :) i have done several lately.
